Here are some notes from last year:

Malvern Joggers AGM 8th February 2017

Matters arising from the meeting at Manor Park

  1. Emily Seyler was co-opted as a member to the committee. Her principal role is organising run leaders for club nights.
  2. There was discussion over the cost of after club run food. One member asked that the money be donated to charity rather than pay for food for those attending the social aspect of club nights.
  3. A member asked about the cost of Chip Timing at the MJ’s 10k and were there less expensive alternatives.
  4. LIRF training opportunities were asked about.

Ben Matt Scriven and co if you are available its the last of the series and it would be good to have you back.. Joking apart ALL abilities are welcome, we were lucky to have new recruits Sue Lewis and Kay Chambers for the last one who both did great and enjoyed the experience. The ladies run a shorter course on this one, in a pretty woodland setting. Hope you can make it.

Six Malvern Joggers went to Credenhill for the fourth running of this 6.3 mile Canter which started at 3pm from Credenhill Sports and Social Club.  This was a lovely, friendly multi-terrain race which covered quiet country lanes, trails and woodland paths in Credenhill Woods which involved climbing some challenging hills and negotiating technical descents.  The finish was at Credenhill Church followed by the prize presentation back at the Sports and Social Club.  Over the past 4 years, £6,200 has been raised for the Hereford Special Care Baby Unit.

The race at Clent Hills was the final event in a series of 4 races over the summer making up the Worcestershire County Summer Mid Week Series.

The first event in May was a 10k multi terrain at Hagley which incorporated the MT Worcestershire County Championships followed in June by a 12k multi terrain at Arrow Valley, Redditch, then the Droitwich 10k in July and lastly the 5 mile multi terrain at Clent Hills, which was a 2 lap event and included mud and some testing hills.

The race was followed by a prize presentation at the Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club.  From Malvern Joggers, first FV50 in the race series was Alison Priest and 2nd in the same age category was Julie Caseley.

Also presented were Worcestershire County Championship medals from the Hagley 10k MT terrain event with Julie Caseley (FV50) winning gold and Alison Priest (FV50) silver.  Ian Walwyn in the MV60 age category won silver.  Julie Caseley also won a gold medal in the FV50 category from the County Half Marathon Championships held at Droitwich in March.
