This is a very popular Friday evening race which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary. The route itself is scenic and varied with a few hills and stiles which starts with a lap of the sports field then heads out between Forge Pool and Ladies Pool. Apart from some very short sections on quiet country lanes, it’s almost entirely traffic free running through beautiful Worcestershire countryside, passing through farmland and woodland, taking in Mount Segg as well as a stream crossing before running back for a final lap of the sports field.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Gerald Sanders and Kevin Draper, the only 2 runners who had completed all 10 races were presented with a framed collage depicting the event over the last 10 years. Julie Caseley won her age category (FV55) in a time of 55:03 and won a bespoke Blakedown Bolt trophy and Up & Running vouchers.
Four Malvern Joggers took part in this race and were led home by Paul Webb in a time of 53:39 followed by Julie Caseley (55:03), Mike Anstey (1:01:01) and Lynda Broadway (1:07:06).
