This was the 50th anniversary of this race and 11 Malvern Joggers supported this local event which was also part of the Champions League.
The course was 4.2 miles on road which attracted a very good entry this year of 55 competitors and forms part of the Bromyard Gala weekend. The race start and finish was at the Post Office and the Town Crier, Peder Nielson, got the runners under way. The course quickly joined the A44, then uphill for the next 2 miles before turning left across the Bromyard Downs, then left again at mile 3 and downhill to the start/finish area. All prize winners received a certificate presented by the Mayor of Bromyard which entitled them to free entry into the 2017 Bromyard Gala.
First Jogger home was Matthew Lancett in a time of 28:20 followed by Nic Dauncey (28:37), Ben Toon (30:25), Jason Protheroe (32:11), Mike Bolton (32:25), Claire Haynes (33:27 – 1st Open Female), Ian Walwyn (34:30 – 2nd Male Super Vet), Amanda Duncan (34:54), Julie Caseley (35:45), Rhian Protheroe (35:51) and Patricia Johnson (41:09 – 3rd Female Super Vet)
