The table has been updated after the Stourbridge Stumble
I’ve just found out that the Credenhill Canter is on the 30 August at 3pm. This is on the same day as the Severn Bridge Half Marathon. However, at the risk of upsetting those who have already entered the Severn Bridge Half Marathon, BOTH of these races will be on the Champions League. The Credenhill Canter is already on the Champions League spreadsheet. The organisers of the Credenhill Canter are awaiting the issue of their Race Permit before advertising and issuing entry forms. Julie.
Julie (Race Captain) says: As dates of races later in the year become available, I’m having to make a decision as to which races are put on the Champions League. Bromyard Round the Downs is on the same day as the Dorstone Dawdle 10k (5 July) so I’ve opted for Bromyard. Also, the Herefordshire Running Festival is on the same day as the Waseley Wobbler (20 September) so I’ve opted for Waseley. Things will probably change again since I don’t have dates yet for the Upton Bishop Big Dipper or the Apperley Quarter Marathon (both in September) although I am emailing as many as possible and awaiting replies.
(To make this easy to find, I’ve added a page under the menu heading for the League – Charly)

“Eight Malvern Joggers travelled to central Wales to take part in this 20 mile road race. Some were preparing for Spring Marathons, some running for points on the Clubs’ Champions League and others just for fun. Five others also ran the 5 mile race including Amanda Duncan (41:14), Lynda Broadway (44:05), Kay Parry (48:08), Annie Robson (54:47) and Mike Anstey (59:49).
Registration took place in Rhayader Leisure Centre and the race began at 1pm. The 31st Rhayader 20 mile Road Race was a demanding race which runs through the picturesque countryside of the Elan Valley, over one of the most scenic courses in the British Isles. The race started in Dark Lane near the Leisure Centre in Rhayader and took us out around the lovely Elan Valley Reservoirs and finished in The Smithfield in Rhayader. The first 5 miles were uphill then runners had to contend with head-on very windy conditions on the exposed hill which sapped energy even on the downhill sections. There were no opportunities for personal bests on this course in these conditions!
No roads were closed for the event neither was it champion chip timed but it was a friendly, efficient race with accurate time keeping.
Finishing times for those members of Malvern Joggers taking part were Megan Judge (2:36:29), Stuart Brown (2:48:38), Matthew Lancett (2:56:35), Neil Humpage (3:03:05), Ian Walwyn (3:07:53), Paul Webb (3:08:04), Julie Caseley (3:11:19) and Mark Cooling (3:19:49).” Julie C
Julie says: ” I’ve just added the Beacon Race on 10 October but taken out Danny’s Dash which was on the 11th – 2 demanding 8 mile hilly races back to back was a bit unfair I thought.”
The revised list is here.
It’s all here.
Remember that from our first Champions League race in March, i.e. Rhayader 20, only fully paid up members of Malvern Joggers will be allocated points until you join (and pay!).
