This is a very friendly road race organised by Hay Hotfooters Running Club which is now in its 8th year. This challenging event was 11.3 miles starting and finishing in Hay-on-Wye, on the border of Wales and England. The route took runners on a gradual incline to Fforddlas before climbing steeply on quiet country lanes to Hay Bluff. Following the contours of the mountain, the road levelled out before a descent back to the finish in Hay.
There was a fantastic turnout of Malvern Joggers for this race which also included several prize winners.
Joggers were led home by Megan Judge winning the prize for first female in a time of 1:33:14 followed by Ian Walwyn (1:33:45 – 1st MV60), Jerry Greer (1:34:32 – 1st MV55), Ian Dyson (1:35:17), Emily Priest (1:37:49 – 3rd female), Steve Roode, (1:42:04), Julie Caseley (1:42:34 – 1st FV55), Alison Priest (1:49:12) Glyn Davies (1:58:23), Mike Anstey (1:58:29), Lynda Broadway (2:01:14), Andrew Banham (2:07:43), Lorraine Bunn (2:07:43 – 1st FV45) and Vivien Tolley (2:07:43).
