Stourbridge Stumble 10k – 5 August 2017

11 members of Malvern Joggers travelled to Stourbridge for the Stourbridge Stumble 10k, starting and finishing at the bandstand in Mary Stevens Park.  The undulating and partly muddy route followed an out and back pan handle course to the south west of Stourbridge offering fine scenery, varied off-road trails and a friendly atmosphere.

Nic Dauncey led the Joggers home in this Club Champions League event in a time of 41:57 followed by Ben Toon (46:12), Mark Hartland (49:56), Steve Roode (50:49), Jason Protheroe (53:08), Alison Priest (53:11), Julie Caseley (56:02), Ian Probert (56:06), Rhian Protheroe (56:38), Mike Bolton (57:31) and Vivien Tolley (1:01:57).

Stourbridge Stagger 10 miles – 5 February 2017

This was the 26th anniversary of the Stourbridge Stagger 10 mile multi-terrain race organised by Stourbridge Running Club. It offers a scenic course with varied off-road trails with mud and challenging hills. The main 10 mile race, together with a Ladies Only 7km event, started and finished in Mary Stevens Park and the main route followed an out and back course to the south west of Stourbridge. All competitors received a souvenir Stourbridge Running Club towel.

This was a Champions League event and the first Malvern Jogger home was Matthew Lancett in a time of 1:15:25 followed by Nic Dauncey (1:16:04), Ben Toon (1:21:35), Megan Judge (1:25:12), Steve Roode (1:27:31), Ian Dyson (1:28:16), Jason Protheroe (1:28:30), Alison Priest (1:28:45), Peter Wilson (1:34:14), Ian Walwyn (1:36:40) and Julie Caseley (1:37:07).

 

Stourbridge Stumble 10k – 6 August 2016

10 members of Malvern Joggers travelled to Stourbridge for the Stourbridge Stumble 10k, starting and finishing at the bandstand in Mary Stevens Park.  The undulating route followed an out and back pan handle course to the south west of Stourbridge offering fine scenery, varied off-road trails and a friendly atmosphere.

Dave Woodward led the Joggers home in a time of 45:20 followed by Nic Dauncey (47:24), Ian Walwyn (50:21, who won the MV60 age category), Steve Roode (52:23), Paul Webb (52:47), Alison Priest (53:09), Julie Caseley (54:35), Mike Anstey (57:37), Tom Appleton (59:00) and Lynda Broadway (1:05:03).

Stourbridge Stumble 10k – 8 August 2015

13 members of Malvern Joggers travelled to Stourbridge for the annual classic running of the Stourbridge Stumble 10k, starting and finishing at the bandstand in Mary Stevens Park.  The route follows an out and back pan handle course to the south west of Stourbridge offering fine scenery, varied off-road trails and a friendly atmosphere which includes the infamous ‘Slop Gully’ and ‘Dinosaur Beach’.

Ben Toon led the Joggers home in a time of 45:55 followed by Megan Judge (46:38) who received a trophy for being 3rd lady. Congratulations also to Julie Caseley who was 1st female vet 50 (54:05) and also to Debbie Parker who was 1st female vet 40 (55:06).   Other Joggers competing included Trevor Matty (48:05), Ian Walwyn (49:35), John Bryan (51:57), Mark Cooling (53:44), Alison Priest (54:27), Steve Roode (55:39), Julia Heron (59:14), Emily Seyler (1:03:45) and Vivien Tolley (1:06:59). Stourbridge Stagger

Hi everyone – unfortunately the gazette didn’t print the full report this week so thought I’d post it here for you to see. Sorry to those who wanted their picture in the paper – keep on running and I’ll keep trying to get us in.

Malvern Joggers took part in the popular annual race put on by Stourbridge Running Club. The Stourbridge Stagger is a 10 mile multi-terrain race run on an undulating off road course which this year was extremely muddy which added to the challenge. This well established friendly event started and finished by the bandstand in Mary Stevens Par, Stourbridge. Malvern Joggers put in some fine performances on a tough course led home by Ben Toon in 1:19:44 followed by Megan Judge in 1:23:55 and Trevor Matty in 1:24:56.
