Ten Malvern Joggers turned up on a beautiful Spring morning for the 25th running of the Cleevewold 14 mile Multi Terrain event organised by Cheltenham & County Harriers. The Race HQ was at Postlip Tithe Barn located between Cheltenham and Winchcombe. The race started on Cleeve Common, a 5 minute walk from Postlip Hall, and began with a short fast, flat section before climbing steeply through old quarries to cross Cleeve Common. After entering the pinewoods and the nature reserve, there was a climb back to Cleeve Common, soon after which is the highest point of the Cotswolds which is marked by a trig point. There was then a faster, undulating section to the Sudeley Valley followed by a steep climb on tracks and road, joining the Cotswold Way again to head up to the Belas Knap long barrow. The final section undulated along woodland tracks, a short road section and finally fields to cross the River Isbourne. Postlip Hall soon came into view and the final stretch was on road and the race finished in front of Postlip Hall and the Tithe Barn.
Malvern Jogger finishers were Jon Newey (1:42:28), Chris Smallman (1:52:51), Sam Burnage (1:56:12), Trevor Matty (2:15:48), John Bryan (2:27:02), Julie Caseley (2:27:54), Paul Webb (2:30:34), Mark Cooling (2:38:47), Glyn Davies (2:42:34) and Lucy Poole (3:01:26).
Well done to Jon Newey who was 3rd overall and to Chris Smallman who won his age category (MV50).
