This was the 26th running of the Cleevewold 14 mile race hosted by Cheltenham and County Harriers. It was a cool but dry day for the 91 competitors. The Race HQ was at Postlip Tithe Barn between Cheltenham and Winchcombe and the race started on Cleeve Common. After a short fast flat section the route climbed steeply through old quarries to cross Cleeve Common, passing the Golf Clubhouse, Cleeve Cloud trig-point and the windswept Iron Age hill fort on the Cotswold Way. After entering the pinewoods and the nature reserve the course climbed back onto Cleeve Common before soon reaching the highest point of the Cotswolds, marked by another trig-point. The next section was faster and gently downhill to reach the Sudeley Valley after which followed a steep climb on tracks back onto the Cotswold Way and up to the Belas Knap long barrow. The final section undulated via woodland tracks and fields to cross the River Isbourne and a final stretch on road to finish in front of Postlip Hall.
