The race at Clent Hills was the final event in a series of 4 races over 4 months beginning in May, making up the Worcestershire County Summer Mid Week Series.
The first event in May was a 10k multi terrain race at Hagley followed in June by a 12k multi terrain at Arrow Valley, Redditch which incorporated the Multi Terrain County Championships. Julie Caseley (FV50) won individual bronze at this County Championship event. The third event was the Droitwich 10k followed by the final race at Clent Hills which was an 8k 2 lap event which included some testing hills.
This race was followed by a prize presentation evening at the Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club, not only for the County Championships but also for the race series. To qualify for a prize in the series, runners had to complete at least 3 of the 4 races over the summer.
The Worcestershire County Half Marathon Championship medals that were won at the Droitwich Half Marathon in March were also presented at the prize giving. Representing Malvern Joggers, Julie Caseley (FV50) won individual gold, Sian Maxfield (FV50) won individual bronze and Julie Caseley, Sian Maxfield and Lucy Gallagher won the ladies team silver at the same event for the Joggers.
Final results for Malvern Joggers in the Worcestershire Mid Week Series were Debbie Parker 2nd FV40, Julie Caseley 2nd FV50 and Alison Priest 3rd FV50.
Malvern Joggers competing in the final race of the series at Clent Hills were Megan Judge (43:27), Ian Walwyn (45:19), Steve Roode (46:33), Deborah Parker (46:52), Mark Cooling (47:38), Julie Caseley (47:55), Alison Priest (49:05), Lynda Broadway (57:26) and Vivien Tolley (59:02).
