A race report for race 2 Abbeydore
On Wednesday on a warm balmy night The Malvern Joggers sent a large team of 16 balmy athletes to Abbeydore in Herefordshire for the latest in the Cross Country league series. The team comprised 11 men and 5 ladies. The race was held on a couple of large farms and open countryside, it was miles from anywhere and the scenery
and views towards Hay Bluff were spectacular.

The series has various leagues the individual placings and the team placings, we were able to field 4 different teams in
the team event. 158 runners started in the middle of a field owned by the organiser of this event Merv, That’s cross country for you no fancy chip timing or fancy medals and t shirts here, just beautiful countryside great views and running stripped back to basics.

As we headed out onto open common land, this race had everything, hills more hills ups and downs, admiring the wild orchids as we went, two stream crossings through not over 😉 open common land pretty woods
climbing fallen trees, a proper cross country.Yes it was the toughest yet but I loved every minute of it !
