9 Malvern Joggers took part in the 5th running of Danny’s Dash starting at a new event HQ at Bewdley Town FC at Ribbesford Meadows and also following a new tough 7.8 mile multi terrain course. The route still incorporated some very steep hills along forest tracks and paths with stunning views over the Severn Valley. The ‘sting in the tail’ was to crawl under cargo netting, commando style, 100m from the finish!
This is a popular, friendly event in memory of Danny Horton who died in 2010 at the age of 36 from a brain tumour. The event is organised by Danny’s family and all proceeds are donated to Brain Tumour Research and Help for Heroes.
All finishers were rewarded with a large ‘Desperate Dan’ hand crafted pie and a bottle of bespoke Danny’s Dash beer from Bewdley Brewery or cider.
