Darren’s Dash – 18 June 2016

Darren’s Dash is a popular, challenging, scenic hill race of approximately 6 miles organised by Wye Valley Runners which takes place from the village of Longtown, Herefordshire, on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacon National Park.

It was a calm, humid day as runners climbed through farmland, tracks, paths and open country up to Hatterall Ridge which dominates the skyline and marks the border between England and Wales.  The route crossed briefly into Wales and then up to the summit at 552m. Then came the swift descent along Offa’s Dyke path until a sharp left turn brought runners back to the Olchan Valley that re-traced the route to the finish.

First Malvern Jogger home was Julie Caseley in a time of 1:03:36 followed by Paul Webb (1:07:25) and Mark Dillon (1:10:08).

Best wishes,

Julie
