A good day of racing today at the Frome ½ Marathon. A hilly course that would have most cycle sportive riders drooling (it even had its own ‘King and Queen of the Mountains’ section!). With 5k and 10k races also taking place it made for an exciting mass start through Frome with brilliant support by the locals. A great scenic route that was all on fully closed roads but the hills seemed to be never ending; just as you thought you must have passed the last hill, and were on your way down a nice long steep descent at mile 12, then up pops a final leg sapping climb. I finished in 1:23:16, good enough for 13th overall. Certainly a race well worth doing with plenty of marshals cheering runners on throughout and a great atmosphere to the race with people of all abilities taking part in the three races. Henry Walker
