This was the 3rd running of the Monmouth Aquathlon Swim Run Challenge organised by Monmouth Tri Club and supported by local businesses. The Race HQ was at Monmouth School Sports Centre and athletes had the choice of the swim/run challenge or just the 12k run which started more or less as the swimmers began exiting the water. Two Malvern Joggers competed in the run challenge which was off-road running parallel with the River Wye with the first 6km following the Wye Valley Walk on footpaths and through woods, the first 3km of which was in Wales and the second 3km in England. After 6km, the route crossed back into Wales over the Biblins Suspension Bridge and then followed the Peregrine Way cycle track for 4km before the final 2km on the Hadnock Road to the finish at the Sports Centre.
First Malvern Jogger home was Julie Caseley finishing in a time of 1:02:42 (4th female and collecting a prize for 2nd FV35+) followed by Chris Jolley 1:12:07.
