This was the second anniversary of this race organised by Newent Running Club starting and finishing at Newent Community College. 300 runners entered and the race was sold out in advance.
The course was an undulating 9.5k road race along scenic, quiet country lanes passing the International Birds of Prey Centre on the outskirts of Cliffords Mesne, before looping back to Newent where the race continued onto Foley Road, the largest cul-de-sac in Europe, through the town centre, where many buildings date back to the 13th century, past the half timbered Market House (built in 1668), finally returning to the finish line at the School. There was a beautiful, newly designed, bespoke medal and gift for all finishers.
Ian Walwyn successfuly defended his male vet 60 age category and Julie Caseley won the FV50 age category. Nic Dawncey was first Malvern Jogger to finish in a time of 42:51 followed by Ian Walwyn (45:01), Julie Caseley (48:04), Alison Priest (48:31) and Andrew Brown (48:56).
