The Sodbury Slog, organised by Bitton Road Runners, is always held on Remembrance Sunday. Before the start of the race at 11:05am at Chipping Sodbury School, there is the reading of the Exhortation, followed by the Last Post and 2 minutes’ silence.
Nearly 1100 runners took part in this lung-busting, hilly multi-terrain 10 mile challenge run through some of South Gloucestershire’s most stunning countryside. This popular race filled up within 48 hours of entries opening and the organisers have used the same paths, fields, water filled ditches (the queues for these were quite long) and mud baths since its original inception in 1990.
Three Malvern Joggers took part – Julie Caseley finishing in a time of 1:34:17, Mike Anstey (1:56:15) and Lynda Broadway (2:03:23).
